We entered the new year with a candlelight Watch Night Service at Calcutta Love Presbyterian Church (Mother Church) with the message “Be a man of vision with Ezra, Nehemiah” (Ezra 7:10).
Thank God by His grace that we were able to plant 120 churches in different corners of India and the surrounding countries. Four other churches are under construction and are ready to dedicate (Kokrajhar, Konkondighi and Jotishpur, respectively). Please pray for the dedications. We are grateful to Rev. Kim Jau. Please pray: We need to build churches at (1) Logos Presbyterian Church (Nepal), (2) Gaisal Presbyterian Church (Nepal), (3) Choto Molla Khali (Island), (4) Parul Presbyterian Church, (5) Nisshindra Presbyterian Church, (6) Kuiamuri Presbyterian Church (Island) in the near future. Pray that the Lord may provide all that is needed to accomplish this.

Two campus pastors and 24 Liberty students experienced a holiday of dust, grime, intense heat, poverty and overcrowding in the busy streets of India. Pastor Johnnie Moore led a missions team to Kota, India, while Scott Ray and his wife, Rebekah, led a team to Calcutta. Light Ministries organized both trips, which were held over Christmas break.

Christ Mission Ashram, in Kalikapur, demolished in January 2006 by the CMDA to make way for a key link between Prince Anwar Shah Road and the EM Bypass, has found a new address.
“Following talks with municipal affairs minister Asok Bhattacharya, who is also chairman of the CMDA, we have purchased from the government a plot in Hatisur, off the Bypass, to rebuild the ashram,” said Reverend Sukrit Roy.

A church in south Calcutta was demolished on a court order on Sunday morning to make way for a key link to the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, a project undertaken a decade ago.
Hundreds of members of the Protestant church in Kalikapur tried to resist the demolition and clashed with CMDA workers, resulting in around 10 persons, including a few children, being injured.
The situation was brought under control only after a large police contingent reached the spot and escorted the workers out. A picket has been posted and the area cordoned off to pre-empt further protests.
The project, being implemented by the CMDA, has been waiting completion since January 1995.

The Christ Mission Ashram has been torn down to allow road construction to the airport. “We have not been offered any alternative site for relocation. Where do we go from here?” church leader asks.
Kolkata (AsiaNews) The Christ Mission Ashram, a church in south Calcutta, was torn down yesterday to make way for a new road. In addition to the Protestant church, the complex included an orphanage that was home to 30 children and 20 women.
The action followed a court order authorising the demolition to complete a project undertaken a decade ago that when completed will cut by half the time it takes to go from the city’s airport to its southern outskirts.

A church has come in the way of the state government’s plans to expand the Prince Anwar Shah Road-EM Bypass connector.
The government had last week served a notice on the authorities of the Christ Mission Ashram, on Santoshpur Avenue, stating that the building would be razed. The church also houses a crèche for slum children. Its authorities are determined to oppose the demolition bid.
IRPTS is the Seminary of Christ Mission Ashram and it offers theological education in the Bengali language, following the standards of Reformed Presbyterian churches. We feel that teaching students for their work in Gods Kingdom is an essential part of our work.
